Estate grown, 30% whole bunches and 15% new oak. A light, bright crimson red. Gorgeously perfumed with aromas of raspberries, wild strawberries (and I've tasted these for the record!) and delicate rose petals. Light–medium bodied, this has both delicacy and depth with its red cherry fruit and a gentle savoury edge. It's quite tightly wound and I can see this becoming more complex and filling out over the next 5 or so years. Philip Rich, Halliday Wine Companion

Based in the cool‑climate Yarra Valley of Victoria, Timo Mayer is a small, highly individualistic winery founded in 1999 by German‑born winemaker Timo Mayer and his partner Rhonda. Drawing on more than 400 years of his family’s winemaking heritage and a keen belief that “wines are made in the vineyard,” the estate produces handcrafted, single‑vineyard wines with minimal intervention—unfiltered, unfined and often using whole‑bunch fermentation to enhance complexity and texture. Known for expressive Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and an adventurous range that includes Syrah, Nebbiolo and Gamay, Timo Mayer’s wines reflect the unique character of their sites and have earned a cult following for their authenticity, balance and cool‑climate precision.
