Located in Brisbane, Sedimentary is a wine sales and storage business tailored for enthusiasts and collectors of fine wine. Our climate-controlled facility ensures perfect conditions for aging your wines, while our secure storage and advanced inventory management system provide peace of mind. With over 60 years of combined experience in wine retail, storage, and logistics, Sedimentary is committed to serving your wine needs.

MEET THE TEAM

BRAD

Brad Hamilton

Brad’s foray into wine began in the early 90’s when completing his Chef’s apprenticeship during a decade with Sheraton Hotels. Since then, he’s opened two highly rated restaurants (Circa Restaurant in Petrie Bight & Era Bistro in South Brisbane), both of which were positioned in the top echelon of venues in Brisbane. It was during his time at Era that his fascination with wine was heightened through his retail wine store - wine@era. Brad has been involved in national wine retail and wine storage for the last decade prior to joining Matt (a mate of more than 35 years) in his current role. 

With vast restaurant and consumer contacts, Brad has amassed an active network of wine savvy buyers who share his passion for all things vinous (in particular Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from both the Old and New world). He enjoys developing and maintaining business relationships and is sure to point his clients in the right direction through product recommendation based on his love of great, and great value wine as well as his food matching knowledge.

Matt Ferris

With over 30 years of business experience, Matt has been deeply involved in a range of industries, including events, catering, logistics, and wholesaling. His diverse background reflects his adaptability and expertise in multiple business sectors. 

Matt is passionate about all things food and wine, and he also has a strong commitment to fitness and travel. He thrives on the challenge of startups, enjoying the process of creating and building businesses with strong values and a clear vision. 

His extensive experience and enthusiasm for innovation is what makes him ‘tick’ and is dedicated to driving growth and success in all his ventures.

Rachael Meek

Rachael completed her studies at Griffith University, earning a double degree in Business Marketing and Graphic Design in 2019. She began her career with Matt in his previous business venture, impressing him with her rapport and strong work ethic, which led to her position at Sedimentary. 

 At Sedimentary, Rachael took charge of designing and building the website, and continually leverages her skills to create marketing material and manage the technical aspects of the business. Outside of work, Rachael is a passionate wine enthusiast who delights in exploring and understanding the nuances of the wine industry, along with partaking in a tasting or two.
