Leconfield Cabernet Sauvignon 2009

Medium deep red-purple. Smoky, almost bushfire aromas, charred oak and fruit's somewhat in the background at first. Very tight and firm, almost hard, and it's hard to see any fruit at this stage. Needs time: a bit closed. Has length and tight tannin structure which bodes well for the future. Densely packed with flavour and has the muscle, intensity and structure to perform with more age. Really came up with time in the glass: a lovely drink, not oaky or too smoky, but ripe, well structured and very elegant.  Huon Hooke, The Real Review
