TASTING_NOTES_HEADING_BLACK

The massive 2010 Cornas La Geynale exhibits a black/purple color along with a beautiful perfume of bouquet garni, smoked meats, blackberries and creme de cassis liqueur. Some floral notes are also present in this huge, over-sized (or is it super-sized?) offering along with tremendous glycerin and intensity. There is plenty of tannin (as one would expect in a 2010), so forget it for 5-6 years and drink it over the following 25. Robert Parker

Producer

Vincent Paris

Domaine Vincent Paris is a respected producer in the Cornas appellation of France’s Northern Rhône Valley, founded in 1997 by winemaker Vincent Paris, a native of Cornas who learned his craft alongside his uncle, legendary grower Robert Michel. Starting with just one hectare of inherited vines, the estate has grown to around 8–10 hectares across Cornas, Saint-Joseph and small parcels in surrounding appellations. Known for its old-vine Syrah and low-intervention approach in both vineyard and cellar, the domaine produces structured yet expressive wines such as Cornas Granit 30, Granit 60, and La Geynale, highlighting the power, freshness and mineral character of the Cornas terroir.
