TASTING_NOTES_HEADING_BLACK

The Chateau Plince ’08 has a well-defined, tightly coiled bouquet with broody black fruit, boysenberry and a touch of black olive. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannins, good weight in the mouth and fine structure, grippy towards the finish with a saline tang on the aftertaste. This has good potential. Neal Martin

Chateau Plince

Château Plince is a family‑owned Bordeaux wine estate in the Pomerol appellation on the Right Bank of France’s Gironde, owned by the Moreau family for more than a century. The estate’s single block of around 8.6 hectares is planted predominantly to Merlot with Cabernet Franc and a little Cabernet Sauvignon on sandy, iron‑rich soils, producing classic Pomerol red wines celebrated for their fruit, structure and regional character. Fermentation is carried out in traditional cement vats, followed by malolactic fermentation and 12–18 months ageing in French oak, and a second label, Pavillon Plince, complements the flagship wine. Château Plince’s wines reflect careful vineyard management and a dedication to quality typical of this esteemed Bordeaux appellation.
