TASTING_NOTES_HEADING_BLACK

Progressively hand-picked with three passes through the vineyard, picking only the perfect bunches, destemmed and crushed to open fermenters for a brief cold soak, fermentation for 7 days, matured in large-format French oak (30% new) for 18 months. From the oldest vines in the Block range, and the lightest colour; ultra classic Hunter Valley shiraz with savoury/earthy/spicy undertones to the medium-bodied blue and black fruits of the palate, contributing as much to the structure and texture of the wine as to the flavour. Mount Pleasant

One of Australia’s oldest family‑owned wineries, Mount Pleasant was founded in 1891 in the Barossa Valley, South Australia, and remains at the heart of the region’s winemaking heritage. For generations the family has nurtured historic vineyards planted on deep red soils, producing classic Barossa styles with a focus on robust Shiraz, rich Cabernet Sauvignon and other regional varieties. Known for its flagship “Para” wines and a commitment to quality and tradition, Mount Pleasant combines time‑honoured cellar practices with thoughtful vineyard management to craft expressive, age‑worthy wines that reflect the depth and character of Barossa Valley fruit.
