A fine La Nina year, drying out well before harvest, the grapes hanging long and cool. Formidable flavour intensity, the result. Radically different aromas, at least when pulling straw from the aromatic haystack that is youthful semillon: custard apple, fennel, pistachio, spiced granny smith, spa salts to quince. Sure, plenty of citrus doused across the acid balancing beam. But this is as densely packed as it is obviously fresh. A classic wine built for long-term cellaring. Among the country's very finest wines of either color. Best after 2028. Screw cap. Ned Goodwin MW, JamesSuckling.com - 97 points and Top 100 Wines of Austalia 2023
