Aromas of pear skin, granny smith apple, citrus (limes) and some lovely floral tones fill the nose. The palate delivers flavours of citrus, sea spray and lemon…delicious!
Picpoul de Pinet is a crisp, refreshing white wine made exclusively from the ancient Piquepoul grape variety in the Languedoc region in southern France and is perfect with oysters.

The Picpoul grapes are grown in the South of France on the Mediterranean coast near the town of Sete and the wine is seen as an ideal match to the local oysters that are grown in the Thau lagoon right near the vineyards. Winemaker Benjamin Darnault sources the grape from a local grower right in the heart of the region in the village of Pinet, working with the variety for many vintages, he is also the winemaker of Chateau Maris in Minervois. With a name that translates to “lip stinger’ to describe the racy acidity in the wine, you can see why the variety is becoming so popular to match not only with oysters but all types of fresh seafood.
