BURGHOUND OUTSTANDING ♥ - In contrast to all of the preceding wines here the nose is distinctly floral in character while combining with notes of pungent earth, red currant and dark berry fruit aromas. There is a beautiful sense of tension and delineation to the linear and driving mineral-inflected finish. This is also markedly more firmly structured than any wine in the range with the exception of the Marconnets. Excellent quality and highly recommended, at least if you have the patience. Domaine Albert Morot

Domaine Albert Morot is a historic Burgundy producer based in Beaune, with origins dating back to 1820 when it began as a négociant house before gradually focusing on estate-grown wines. Today the domaine covers around eight hectares of vineyards, including several renowned Premier Cru sites such as Bressandes, Grèves, Teurons and Marconnets, producing predominantly Pinot Noir wines that express the character of Beaune’s diverse climats. Certified organic since 2015, the estate combines traditional Burgundy winemaking with sustainable viticulture, and entered a new chapter in 2023 following its acquisition by the Poitrinal family group and the appointment of winemaker Pierre-Jean Villa to guide the domaine’s future.
