SC Pannell The Vale Shiraz Grenache 2014

Ranked #2 of 16 2014 Shiraz blends from McLaren Vale - A full array of foresty berry fruits here again, all layered in neat, fitted together with the precision and detail of an expert joiner; this has impressive polish. The fruit aromas run through red, blue and dark tones, chocolate and liquorice, a hint of coal smoke too. On the palate there's a very supple, fine and even sheen of tannin, soaked in redder fruit flavors. This has terrific depth, elegance and purity. A blend of old vine Shiraz and Grenache.
