The 2024 Volnay En Carelle Sous La Chapelle 1er Cru had seen no SO2 yet Clerget used the lees to make a small reduction to protect the wine. This is 100% de-stemmed with 25% new oak. It has an attractive bouquet with blackberry, raspberry, wild hedgerow and light iris flower scents. The palate is medium-bodied with a bright entry, plenty of sucrosity compared to the other cuvées with a precise finish. This is very promising. Neal Martin, Vinous
