After hand-picking, the wine was pressed gently as whole bunches, and in the end, only free-run juice was fermented, contributing to its fineness and delicate poise. It was fermented in a mix of quartz amphora of different sizes and shapes, along with some barriques. A small portion of the wine, about 30 per cent, was fermented in new oak. The free-run juice has contributed to a certain pristine quality about the wine, while it retains that fine, elegant precision, delivering a nice mix of citrus and stone fruit and just a faint minerally flintiness. A super wine. Drink 2026-2036. 96PTS Ray Jordan

Plenty of flavour and richness, but not at the expense of acidity, freshness and clarity. Some complexing sulphides add to this, sitting neatly with flavours of dried pears, lemon and lime, yet it's super savoury, spicy and moreish. Sits in the fuller-bodied range without being weighty; seems charged with energy/acidity, with a slip of texture – a little buttery and creamy. 95+PTS Jane Faulkner, Halliday Wine Companion

Bright, medium-full yellow colour; there are strident citrus aromas of lemon, grapefruit and passionfruit, probably Gin Gin clone, while the palate is again intensely fruited with grapefruit and citrusy acidity that threads a taut line throughout the wine. Good persistence and fruit purity. Awesome concentration! 95PTS Huon Hooke, The Real Review

LAS Vino

Nic Peterkin of Margaret River’s L.A.S. Vino winery was born with pedigree winemaking blood in his veins (his father – Pierro winemaker Mike Peterkin & his mother from the famed Cullen family), but his own ingenuity and hard work have got him to where L.A.S. Vino is today. Nic has consistently produced wines that push boundaries and show a penchant for his calculated, out-of-the-box style of thinking. L.A.S. Vino was named Dark Horse Winery of the Year 2023 and #53 in the Top 100 Wineries of Australia 2023 by Halliday’s Wine Companion. Following on from these exceptional accolades Nic was titled 2024 Winemaker of the Year by Ray Jordan’s WA Wine Review, and Young Winemaker of the Year by Gourmet Traveller.
