Grosset Springvale Riesling 2026

I tasted this wine with MB last weekend and thought it was really good, though I’m trying it again now in the slightly quieter environs of my home (I make most of the noise, if you’re wondering, though as my mum used to say ‘You’d make trouble in an empty room’.) Lime, white flowers, cut fennel, green cardamom, a light spicy note. Quite juicy, but there’s also a light chalky grip here, white pepper and apple cucumber coolness, lime rind, a little quinine bite and perfume on a finish of excellent length. It’s a delicious wine, and quite approachable now for my tastes, though of course it will age surely too. Gary Walsh, Wine Front
