The palate is vibrant on the entry with Granny Smiths, pear and light citric notes, impressive weight on the finish with a little more persistence. This punches well above its weight. Granddaughter of the legendary Paul Pernot, Alvina Pernot represents the new face of Puligny-Montrachet, breaking the mould with wines defined by precision, restraint, and elegance. After several vintages working alongside her father, she established her own domaine in 2018 with her husband, Philippe Abadie. Together they manage a small collection of prized parcels across Puligny-Montrachet, Meursault, and the grand crus of Bâtard-Montrachet and Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet, some of the most exclusive holdings in the region. Alvina’s approach is meticulous, with minimal intervention in the cellar, a focus on fruit purity, and a commitment to expressing each vineyard’s individuality.
