Guillaume Vrignaud joined his father in 1999 when they decided to exit the local co-op and forge ahead making their own wines. His father planted a swathe of vines in 1978, and there are also some sections of massale plantings dating from 1955 in the 1er crus. The wines of Vrignaud offer the classical hits of Chablis; jagged acidity, sea spray and iodine notes concentrated citrus and white floral lift and an undertow of rocky earthy notes. Stainless steel dominates the winery, capturing the oceanic seashell minerality of their origins. In two crus some larger old oak is also used to add a layer of richness and breadth to the wines, adding structure for longevity and oxygenating the wines to temper reductive elements.

I’ve purchased different wines from Sedimentary a couple of times. They’ve got a great selection and really knowledgeable. I’m currently working my way through the SC Pannell wines that I bought which I’ve not had in years and really enjoying. Looking forward to my next visit.
