Protero Gumeracha Nebbiolo 2022

The 2022 Prōterō Nebbiolo is delicate, fine and substantially and elegantly tannic, and the fruit has a cavalcade of silky red berries. This is a wonderful wine, one that has detail, layers, great length and persistence. There aren't too many Australian Nebbiolos, and there are even fewer great examples, of which this is the finest. Medium-deep, bright and youthful red-purple hue; sweetly ripe raspberry, blackberry, black cherry and dried herb aromas showing excellent ripeness. A subtle patina of terracotta. The wine is full-bodied and firm with generous tannins that are persuasive yet ripe and supple, all combining in a palate of impressive length and succulence.
