TASTING_NOTES_HEADING_BLACK

I tasted the 2023 Musigny Vieilles Vignes Grand Cru both as components from the seven different cuvees that make the final blend and as an approximation of the final blend itself. This has exquisite delineation on the nose: blackberry, raspberry, crushed stone and touches of undergrowth very harmonious. The palate is medium-bodied, tightly wound and linear, with a sense of symmetry on the entry. But of all the Musigny tasted from barrel in 2023, this has perhaps the most nascent freshness, tension and complexity on the finish. A sense of completeness. Outstanding. Neil Martin, Vinous

Comte Georges de Vogue

Domaine Comte Georges de Vogue can trace its lineage back over 550 years, to 1450 and the Chambolle vines of one Jean Moisson. Highly regarded as the greatest estate in Chambolle Musigny, today the domaine is headed by its 20th generation – Claire de Causans and Marie de Ladoucette, the grand daughters of the late Comte Georges de Vogue. The philosophy at de Vogue is one which tries to blend tradition and modernity. Nothing is done systematically in either the vineyard or the cellar. There is a constant adaptation to both vineyard and vintage conditions. De Vogue see themselves as intermediaries: nature is the boss, and they are the guardians of the wine.
