TASTING_NOTES_HEADING_BLACK

Darkly floral and opening slowly in the glass, the 2021 Etna Rosso smolders up with a nuanced blend of crushed rocks and dried roses. It’s soothingly round with medium-bodied weight and a saline mineral tinge up front that gives way to depths of tart cherry-berry fruits. The 2021 tapers off structured, long, yet beautifully balanced, with red inner florals and lingering exotic spice hints. This is punching well above the cateogry of Rosso, but it will need some cellaring to come fully together. Eric Guido, Vinous

Graci

The Graci winery is located in Passopisharo, in northeastern Sicily. Here, on the slopes of Mount Etna, vines have been cultivated for thousands of years. One of the reasons Alberto Aiello Graci bought the vineyards here in 2004 was to take up and carry on the centuries-old tradition. Graci's wines cannot exactly be called Sicilian: they are wines from Etna. Not surprisingly, he chose as the winery's symbol the Cirneco dell'Etna, a greyhound bred on the island since ancient times. Graci's wines are of great quality, organic made from grapes of native grape varieties such as Nerello Mascalese, Nerello Capuccio, Carricante and Catarratto.
