1990's Vintage Wine

The 1990s were also marked by a number of influential cultural events. The sitcom Friends debuted, while a landmark “show about nothing” ended. A little movie called Titanic packed theatres, becoming the first film to earn $1 billion at the box office. And when it came to music, grunge and hip-hop made a lot of noise. In the wine world, more attention was given to earlier picking, lower alcohol, better pH and limited use of SO2, and all came together for Chardonnay, which, together with Shiraz, utterly dominates production. Almost every wine region globally produced wines of outstanding quality throughout the 90’s! Bordeaux wines were becoming more sought after globally which meant one thing for us all, prices would head north!
