Quite complex dark raspberry fruit on the palate, a peony showing as well. The Richebourg specialises in depth of fruit, the Romanée St-Vivant more in its drive and backbone, very much a different shape. Maybe a little lighter within the context of the other wines here this year. Bertrand suggests more elegance, and ultimately the Richebourg will prove to be the better balanced long term runner, despite the superb fruit of the Romanée St-Vivant.
